History & Background
The Esfarayen Higher Education Complex of Engineering and Technology (EUT) is located in Esfarayen County, North Khorasan Province. It began its operations as the Esfarayen Technical and Engineering Institute, admitting 60 students in February 2012 in two associate degree programs: Foundry Technology and Mechanical Engineering.
In the following academic year (2012–2013), bachelor’s degree programs in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Engineering were added. The institution was then promoted to the Faculty of Engineering and later, in 2013, to its current status as the Esfarayen Higher Education Complex of Engineering and Technology.
Currently, EUT has 1,530 enrolled students and a total of 2,759 graduates to date.
Faculty, Staff & Programs
EUT currently employs 67 full-time faculty members and 93 non-faculty staff members. It offers 20 active programs in engineering and technology fields.
Degrees and disciplines include:
· Master’s programs (5): Materials & Metallurgical Engineering (Materials Selection & Identification), Electrical Engineering (Energy Systems), Chemical Engineering (Energy Systems), Mechanical Engineering (Energy Systems), Chemical Engineering (Thermokinetics & Catalysis)
· Bachelor’s programs (continuous – 11): Mechanical Engineering, Materials & Metallurgical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Sciences, Safety & Technical Inspection in Oil & Gas Industries, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing & Production Engineering, Energy Engineering
· Bachelor’s programs (non-continuous – 2): Manufacturing & Production Mechanics, Computer Engineering (Software)
· Associate degree programs (2): Materials Technology, Mechanical Technology
Ranking & Status
According to the ranking of Iranian universities by the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), Esfarayen University of Technology (EUT) ranks 6th and 11th among all industrial universities in Iran, in 2020 and 2023, respectively.

Vision & Mission
Leveraging its young and capable human resources, excellent physical infrastructure, and the region’s unique industrial capacities—including two significant industries in the Middle East (steel and pipe manufacturing)—and in line with national higher education zoning and mission-oriented plannings, EUT aspires to establish itself as a premier university of technology in northeastern Iran, playing a key role in the comprehensive development of the Islamic Republic of Iran and training skilled, expert young professionals.
